Question Tags são miniperguntas feitas ao final de uma frase para confirmar algo ou pedir opinião sobre o que foi dito. Se a primeira parte da frase for afirmativa, a segunda parte será negativa; se a primeira for negativa, a segunda será afirmativa. Veja no português:

Você foi à praia, não é mesmo / né?

Você foi à praia, não foi?

Você não foi à praia, foi?

O mesmo ocorre em inglês:

Karen plays the piano, doesn’t’ she?   

  You didn’t lock the door, did you?
